Home Made Laundry Powder

I have been environmentally conscious for much of my life, always striving to use products with less harsh chemicals in them, and that produce less strain on the environment.
This became particularly important when I moved to a mountain, where all of our greywater is pumped back onto the garden/lawn.
I needed to feel ok with pumping whatever goes down the drain back into the environment.
I used soap berries for a long time, but I found that they left a sticky residue on clothes after a few months of washing with them, and I imagine this wasn't good for the machine either.
I went on the hunt for a laundry powder recipe, and found a lot of people recommending this one - I have never looked back!
The original recipe I found was a 2:2:1 ratio of baking soda, washing soda and salt.
I now just chuck in 1kg each of baking soda and washing soda, then a cup of salt. Our clothes are clean, no sticky residue, and I feel better to not be pumping brighteners etc. onto our soil.
Please make sure to check your machine's warranty, as some people have suggested that home made powders might void it.
